Rebecca Hughes is an awesome woman of Faith. I didn't find her testimony of the gospel per-say, but I did find this 1st person tale of her pov of polygamy.
The life of a young
girl in those days was quite a problem,
for she not only had the young men courting
her, but the middle aged, and the old.
I became so bewildered that I made it a matter
of prayer and fasting, and was shown
in a dream the man that was to become my husband . You girls would think you lived
in a funny household to have a husband 19
years older than you, and his first wife
9 years older than your husband, but we
were a happy household.
Elizabeth and Lottie were almost like
sisters to me, and we had good times together,
they were telegraph operators, and bought
nice materials for us all. There were
never two women who got along better than
we. When I became pregnant with my fifth
child, Aunt Charlotte, who
had four children at that time said, “0h Rebecca, you
are getting ahead of me” .
I
put my arms around her and said “Charlotte
, they are
as much yours as mine ,
we all belong to the same man.” She gave me a squeeze and
said, “That is right we all belong to the same man."
